- Deriving its name from the legendary World War I pilot Baron Manfred Von Richthofen, better known as the Red Baron, this flying school operates aerobatic aircraft with open cockpits. The flight training at Red Baron centers around aerobatics and special aircraft handling techniques which come with the special nature of its aircraft. Training is available for pilots at all levels, from beginners to experienced private pilots seeking commercial training.

Phase 1 consists of 60 hours of study and a written exam, a minimum of 25 hours' dual flying, five hours of solo flying and a 2 1/2-hour flight test; when these are complete, the student receives a limited license. Phase 2 leads to a private pilot license. It requires 60 hours of study followed by an exam, 19 hours of dual flights and six hours solo, plus a 2 1/2-hour flight test. Some students may require more training to complete one or both phases.
