Taking DHA Supplements During Pregnancy - Why Your Baby"s Development Depends on DHA Omega3

Do you know the importance of taking DHA supplements during pregnancy?  If not, then reading this article will explain what you need to know.
The reason why doctors recommend taking a DHA supplement during pregnancy is because they are much needed by your baby to fully develop many of it's bodily systems.
DHA is a type of omega-3 fatty acid predominantly found in cold, deep water fish.
But since pregnant women shouldn't be eating much fish or seafood, the only way to really get healthy and necessary amounts of omega-3 is through a quality fish oil dietary supplement.
Just make sure that the oils are purified and molecularly distilled to remove these contaminants.
Why is taking DHA supplements during pregnancy so important? Well for one, it's a key element needed to fully develop a baby's nervous system and brain, specifically it's cognitive (memory and focus) and neurological development.
In fact, a baby that's born to a mother with high amounts of omega-3 fatty acids in her system will most likely have more advanced cognitive function and a higher attention span, which is an early sign of a child's intelligence.
There are also benefits of taking DHA supplements during pregnancy for the mother.
You can decrease your chances of pre-eclampsia, pre-term labor, and premature delivery by taking a quality omega-3 fish oil supplement.
On top of this, your baby won't have to pull DHA omega-3 from your brain to get the proper nutrition,  Studies have shown that a mother can loose of to 3% of her brain cells by not taking a DHA supplement during pregnancy.
If you have three kids, that's close to a 10% brain cell reduction! The important thing is to make sure you find a safe and quality brand of fish oil to take.
Make sure to educate yourself a little bit before making your purchase.
