Hippie

• You can make a fringed vest from a dark T-shirt. Cut fringe into the hemline and sleeve and tie beads along the strips. Wear it with a tie-dye T-shirt and bell bottoms. You can increase the width of the bell bottoms by splitting the outside bottom seam of the pant legs and adding a triangle of funky fabric. Wear a head band or a big floppy hat over long straight hair or an afro. Wigs for both are available in costume shops. Finish with little granny sunglasses, sandals and a peace sign medallion around the neck.
  
  

Go-Go Girl

• You will need an A-line mini shirt and blouse or mini dress. It should be in a bright color, floral or a swirly, multi-color psychedelic pattern. It can be sleeveless or have long sleeves with a bell-shaped cuff. The boots should come almost to the knees and were usually white with a high chunky heel. Hair should be long and straight or very short and topped with a little matching mod cap.
  
  

Disco Guy

• Go to the thrift store and find a three-piece suit in a light color. Powder blue, light green and white are good colors. You may need to add fabric to the pant legs to get a wide bell bottom. Look for a shirt with wide lapels in a floral or paisley pattern. Don't be afraid to try the ladies department. Wear the jacket open and the collar should sit high and over the jacket lapels. You can unbutton the shirt down far enough to show off a couple of gold chains. Look for shoes with a big chunky heel.
  
  

Flower Child

• A good costume for a little girl is a flower child. You will need a granny skirt and either a tank top or an old fashioned sleeveless blouse. A fringed shawl or poncho keeps her warm. Add lots of bangle bracelets around the wrists and beads around the neck. Put a wreath of flowers in the hair and go barefoot or wear sandals. Paint a pretty flower on one cheek with face paint.
