Kim - If you were sitting down with a young band that wanted to get out there and minister through music, what would you tell them?
Ryan - We actually did that yesterday! They need to make sure, in their hearts, that they know that they're called to this job because it is not easy. Once you get a record deal it is not cake and ice cream. It is so hard. We were so poor that Jon Micah was paying for Jr.
Bacon Cheeseburgers at Wendy's with a credit card and then paying them off with a different credit card! Another thing I want to say is polish up your skills as much as you can. If God is ready to use you then be ready for Him to use you. Don't just slack off and not practice. You have to put forth the effort and He'll bless that.
Jeff - Staying in the Word and praying is so key because it gives you more revelation as to whether or not it's something that God called you to do. Some people forget that. Just keep it in prayer man. If it's that much on your heart that that is what you really want to do the Lord will make it come to pass because He grants us the desires of our hearts.
Ryan - Our lead singers favorite verse is Psalm 37:4 and that's exactly that. "Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart." It's not that your desires are what God is giving you, God gives you those desires in your heart and becomes your passion.
Kim - I know you guys have to get ready to work.
Is there anything you'd like to say to your fans to close with?
James - Thank you!
Ryan - Our record is out right now and it's good so go purchase it!
Jeff - We love you sooooo much!
Ryan - To our friends and family - we love you so much.
James - I'd say that Kutless is one of the more appreciate bands of our fans. We have such dedicated fans. They're always so quick to encourage us. We know in our heart of hearts that there are people literally all over this world that are praying for us. In being dedicated to us, they represent us to other people. So even when we're playing a show in Alabama, a fan in Ohio can show a non-saved kid our CD and be like "Hey, this is a band that I really like. You should listen to it". It's just amazing to see how God has networked it all.
