- 1). Click on the "Start" menu and select "Control Panel." Click to select "Classic view."
- 2). Double-click on "Java." Please note you will see this icon only if Java was previously installed on the computer. If you do not see this icon, install Java for free (see Resources for the link).
- 3). Click on the tab labeled "Update" when the "Java Control Panel" pops up.
- 4). Click on "Update Now." Select "Install" when prompted. Wait for the installation to finish.
- 5). Restart the computer to apply the upgrade.
