Though often mistaken for a brand name, “Nag Champa” is really the name of a specific combination of natural fragrance ingredients associated with the Ayurvedic tradition.Though most famously known as a popular type of incense, Nag Champa scents are used in a variety of scent products ranging from practical items to various means of delivering the ambient fragrance into the space of a room. If you're a fan of Nag Champa, you can easily incorporate it into many areas of your daily life. - Nag Champa incense sticks are designed to be inserted into long, thin burning racks that elevate the stick. The sticks are thin, wood-coated with a caked, flammable powder. When lit, the incense smolders with a glowing coal tip, producing a constant whisper of sweet-smelling smoke for about 30 minutes.
- Cone incense serves the same function as stick Nag Champa incense, but is made by compacting the caked incense powder into small cone shapes rather than coating the substance onto sticks. The tips of the cones are lit and provide more smoke than stick pieces due to there being more to burn.
- Nag Champa scented soaps are popular amongst commercial sellers and artisan soap makers alike. Many of the most commonly sold brands of Nag Champa soap are produced by the same companies who produce Nag Champa incense and will thus bear a striking resemblance to the distinctive take on the Nag Champa blend used in the company's incense. In addition, you can often buy these soaps at the same locations where Nag Champa incense is sold.
- Nag Champa is also popular as a perfume fragrance. While it may come as a liquid perfume in atomizing sprayer bottles, it's more common to see Nag Champa perfume sold as a thick oil or white cream. These creams are often sold in the same stores that sell incense and Indian imports, available in small, round containers that are often decorative.
- Nag Champa candles provide ambient Nag Champa fragrance without the accompanying smoke of incense. Slightly less common than incense and soaps, Nag Champa candles are generally found where other types of scented candles are sold, including more mainstream fragrances.
- The scent of Nag Champa is used in almost any kind of product designed to smell good. Some specialty toiletry makers incorporate the smell of Nag Champa into other bath products, including shampoo and lotion. Nag Champa may be found in scented sachets, reed diffuser oils or massage oils.
