- Chamomile is an herb that has long been used to heal puffiness around the eyes. When dark circles or puffiness occurs, brew a pot of chamomile tea, remove the tea bags and place in the refrigerator to chill. Then, place a chilled tea bag over each eye for fifteen minutes. This should immediately reduce inflammation and puffiness. Keep the used tea bags in the refrigerator, as these can be reused for up to a week. Alternately, use the chamomile tea itself. After brewing a pot of tea, place the tea in the refrigerator to chill, then soak two cotton balls in the tea and place over each eye. Let sit for fifteen minutes, then rinse the face with cool water to remove any leftover tea residue.

Soak a wash cloth in the chilled tea and place over the eyes for ten minutes. This will sooth and relax the muscles surrounding the eyes, eliminating pain caused by eye strain.
