How to Locate a Parolee

    • 1). Search the website for your state's department of corrections.You will be asked to enter identifying information about the state parolee such as last name, city, county or other information specific to the parolee.

    • 2). Write a letter or telephone your state's department of corrections if an online search was not available for the state parolee.

    • 3). Search the Inmate Locator to locate a federal parolee released after 1982. You will need to enter the parolee's first and last names, middle initial, date of birth, race, approximate incarceration dates, aliases and name of prison.

    • 4). Write to the Federal Bureau of Prisons to locate a federal parolee released before 1982. The address is:

      Washington, DC 20534

      Include the same information required for an inmate released after 1982.
