- 1). Park and turn off the Craftsman riding lawnmower. Locate the deck lever and pull toward you. This will put the riding lawnmower into the highest position.
- 2). Get off of the mower and walk around to the front. Look at the tires and find the midpoint.
- 3). Locate the suspension arm on the left-front side of the riding lawnmower. Below the suspension arm is the lift link adjustment nut.
- 4). Pick up the wrench and put it on the nut. In a clockwise motion, count the number turns until the nut becomes tight. The lift link adjustment will raise the left-front side of the mower with the clockwise motion. Repeat this on the right-front side, with the same number of counts completed on the left-front side. This will level the riding lawnmower.
- 5). Loosening the lift link adjustment nut on the left-front side will lower the riding lawnmower. In a counter-clockwise motion, count the number of twists you make until the nut is loose. Repeat this on the right-front side to lower the riding lawnmower to the same level as the left-front side.
- 6). Adjusting the front and back level of the riding lawnmower requires that the left and right side be level first.
- 7). Locate the link just behind the tire and pick up the wrench. Put the wrench on the nut facing the front of the riding lawnmower. Count the number of counter-clockwise motions it takes to loosen the nut. Repeat this on the right-front side. Go back to the other side.
- 8). Locate the nut just behind the one loosened and count the number of clockwise motions needed to tighten the nut. This will lower the riding lawnmower.
- 9). Locate the link just behind the tire and pick up the wrench. Put the wrench on the left-front side nut just behind the nut facing the front. Tighten the nut in a clockwise motion. Count the number of twists and repeat this action to the right-front side. Go back to the other side.
