- 1). Crawl underneath the truck and use the flashlight to find the bolts that secure the bed to the frame. A good way to find these is to look for the sheetmetal cross braces that go across the width of the bed floor and look at where they connect to the frame. Also look for access holes in the bottom of the frame just below the crossmembers.
- 2). Connect the 1/2-inch ratchet, extension and socket together and unbolt the first bed bolt by going through an access hole on the bottom of the frame. If there isn't an access hole available, take off the extension and use the socket and ratchet.
- 3). Loosen the bolt until it comes off of the bed. Then remove the bolt from the frame and repeat the process for any additional bed bolts you need to remove.
