- 1). Select the spot where you want your Intex straight side swimming pool to go. Choosing a spot that is already relatively level reduces the amount of additional work you need to do.
- 2). Measure the high ends and low ends of the spot you have selected. If the low end of the area is no more than two inches lower than the high end, you can use sand to level the area and install your pool. If there is more than two inches of difference between the high end and the low end you will need to remove dirt from the site to make it more level.
- 3). Shovel the sand into the spot where you want to put the Intex pool, placing more sand in the low end of the spot and less in the higher end. Continue shoveling the sand out and smoothing it as you go.
- 4). Attach a level to a 2-by-4 and check the levelness of the sand. Adjust or redistribute the sand as needed until the ground is level.
- 5). Measure the 2-by-4 and find the middle of the piece. Drill a 3/8 inch hole in the center and drive a 3/8 inch rod through the hole and into the ground.
- 6). Spin the 2-by-4 on the rod while watching the level. Skim off sand as needed and redistribute it until the ground is perfectly level. Check the level several times before setting up your Intex pool.
