- 1). Hold the coat hanger upright on top of the work bench and position it so that half of the hanger is on the surface.
- 2). Apply pressure on to the center of the coat hanger to create a small bend in the bottom metal piece of the hanger.
- 3). Press down on each corner of the hanger to create a bend that is approximately 30 to 45 degrees, about three inches in from the tip of each corner of the coat hanger.
- 4). Manipulate the metal corners so that they are bent at equal angles and then place the hanger on your desk so that the bent corners are facing upward.
- 5). Fold the screen of your laptop all the way back and insert the bottom half of the laptop into the bent corners of the coat hanger, which will cradle it in the same manner as a typical laptop docking station would.
