He holds numerous snowboarding titles, and was considered a leading contender for the 2010 Winter Olympics before suffering a traumatic brain injury in late 2009 while training for the Olympic Halfpipe trials.

Career Highlights:

Kevin Pearce was given his first snowboard by none other than Jake Burton, a close family friend. After turning pro, he's had a number of successes, including two silver medals and a bronze medal at the 2008 Winter X-Games. Pearce also received a bronze medal at the 2008 U.S. Open of Snowboarding, held annually at Stratton, VT.

2009 Traumatic Brain Injury:

On December 31, 2009, while training for the U.S. Olympic Halfpipe Qualifiers in Utah, Kevin Pearce fell hard, hitting his head on the halfpipe and suffering what is being described as a traumatic brain injury (TBI). He was flown to the University of Utah's Intensive Care Unit, where he remains sedated as doctor's monitor his condition. Although he is listed as being in stable condition, he likely has a long recovery ahead of him, and any chance at an Olympic title would seem to be out of the question at this point.
