- 1). Place a silk tie flat on the a table in front of you, lying horizontally with the front side down. Grasp the tail end of the tie and fold it up about the length of your thumb.
- 2). Fold this folded piece up and over again the same length. Continue folding your tie in this manner until you reach 8 inches from the end.
- 3). Fold the tie one or two more times and tuck it into your lapel pocket with just the tip sticking out. This will create a pointed, triangular-looking pocket accent. If you want a squared-off pocket accent, proceed to Step 4.
- 4). Fold the wide end of the tie down past where the tip angles, and tuck the entire creation into your lapel pocket. The top folded edge you just created will look like a folded silk pocket square.
