The Barracks, where the Dharma Initiative people and later the hostiles lived, was a hard set to find. There couldn't be any mailboxes, streets, or power lines. The set people discussed buying three homes in a cul de sac to transform, or going to a military based or neighborhood, but they had some challenges associated with that. They decided on the YMCA, where they painted the bungalows, built porches, and dressed it up a little bit.
They pay a holding fee and take care of the grass. The YMCA has since won awards for their look.
