World Vision acknowledged the efforts of Avalon during a special event at GMA Week 2006, held in early April in Nashville. Avalon has helped to unite more than 18,000 sponsors and children worldwide. During the live event, Russ Taff joined Avalon on stage to sing ?We Will Stand,? which was written by Russ Taff, Tori Taff and James Hollihan. The song was recorded by Avalon for their current release, STAND.
Avalon member Jody McBrayer said in a press release, "For me, child sponsorship is truly an amazing thing. Not only does it change the life of a child forever, but it also teaches us to appreciate every bit of what God has blessed us with."
?We?re grateful to be at a place in life where God is allowing us to be part of something bigger, to see a bigger picture,? added Janna Long, one of the founding members of Avalon.
Avalon has had over 3 million record sales worldwide and has recently joined the Women of Faith family, performing at 24 of the events in 2006.
