- 1). Purchase materials at hobby or craft stores. A speciality scrapbook store might have a wider selection of materials. Choose colors that coordinate with the party's theme, keeping the materials understated so as not to create an invitation that is too busy.
- 2). Find a quality photo of the guest of honor. This picture can be from days gone by or a more recent picture. Take the photo to a print shop and have it printed as a 4x6 photo in either a black and white or sepia toned finish. Print as many photos as you want invitations.
- 3). Use word processing or desktop publishing software to create the wording for the invitation. Be sure to include all of the pertinent information such as the date, time, RSVP instructions and directions. You can also add a quote about aging or a clever poem that references turning 70. Print the invitation out on vellum paper, allowing it to dry completely. Cut the vellum to 4x6 with the paper cutter.
- 4). Center the photo on the 5x7 cardstock, adhering it using the photo stickers. Mount the vellum over the photo using the black photo corners. This will give the invite an old fashion feel and you will be able to see the photo behind the wording.
