- 1). Cut a 10-inch piece from the cord, and then cut a 20-inch piece of cord. Leave the remaining 70 inches of cord intact. Find the center of the 20-inch and 70-inch pieces and match their middles together. Use the middle of the 10-inch cord to lay center on the other two cords. Slip end pieces of the 10-inch cord around the two longer pieces and pull them tightly together.
- 2). Anchor the cords with the masking tape on a table or other hard surface. Pull the 20-inch and 70-inch cords firmly to straighten them, and tape the 70-inch piece to the surface at the bottom. Leave the end pieces of the 20-inch cord piece free.
- 3). Wrap the left end piece under the middle 70-inch piece. Wrap the right end piece under the 70-inch center piece and pull them tightly together. Continue this same process, making 20 knots. Add beads, if desired, to the middle 70-inch piece, and continue knotting as outlined previously, as the knot will secure the beads in place.
- 4). Finish the bracelet design and secure the end with a final full knot, looping all of the pieces together. Alternatively, place a bead on the end, tying a knot behind the bead.
- 5). Loop the 10-inch piece through the final knot or bead. Use the opposite end to create the adjustable closure by creating a slip knot. Wrap the end of the 10-inch piece just behind the beginning knots of the bracelet. Once the loop is created tie the end of the 10-inch cord, leaving a small hole to adjust the bracelet to the wearer. Allow the wearer to tighten it as needed.
