- 1). Place a piece of cardstock on a silicone baking sheet. The spongy silicone supports the cardstock while allowing it to give a little.
- 2). Place the rose stencil on your cardstock where you want to emboss some roses. This may be on the edges of the stock, in the corners, in the center top or in the very middle of the cardstock. Ordinary plastic drawing stencils work fine for stylus embossing.
- 3). Press the tip of the embossing stylus against the stock just inside your stencil. Press down firmly and trace around the stencil as you would with a pen. Styluses look like pens with dull, rounded tips. They have no ink or graphite inside.
- 4). Remove the stencil from the cardstock and flip the stock over. You should see your rose design in raised relief against the rest of the cardstock.
- 5). Place the stencil over the raised parts of the design; you'll have to flip the stencil so it fits properly.
- 6). Rub the corner of a makeup sponge on an ink pad and swipe it over the roses to color them.
