- 1). Drape tulle around the perimeter of the window. Tulle is a fine, net-like man-made fabric that is frequently used to decorate the pews and altars at a wedding. Use a little or a lot of tulle, depending on the decorations used for the rest of your wedding. If your other decorations are understated, use a small amount of tulle on the window ledge. For more elaborate affairs, drape tulle all around the window using small tacks.
- 2). Highlight the colors of your wedding through your window decorations. Drape fabric in the color scheme of your wedding around the windows. Choose other color options too. For country weddings use a gingham pattern. For simple weddings that don't have a color theme, use a fabric color that represents love, such as red or pink.
- 3). Embellish the church windows with flowers or greenery. Bring nature into the ceremony when decorating the windows of the sanctuary, hall or home where you are holding your wedding. Purchase artificial vine-like greenery and drape it around the window like you would fabric or tulle. A more understated option is to place simple flowers represented in your wedding on the window sill. As an alternative, position many rosebuds in small individual globe vases to fill up the sill.
- 4). Place simple lighted candles on the window sill. The flickering flame of a lighted votive may be enough window decoration for a low-key wedding. Crafts stores have many options for candles and votives, including ways to float votives in water. Even for weddings that are otherwise heavily decorated, a candelabra placed in each window is an easy choice. Evening weddings that are naturally lit are a good opportunity to use candles.
