What Does that Mean when you are fighting alcoholism? I had a quick reflection on a recent and interesting study on alcoholism from the University of Colorado at Boulder; a woman, post-doctoral co-author, says that religiosity exerted a "strong enough influence", thus overriding the genetic figures and statistics' graphics.
The influence was very positive and evident.
This is a great step in and of itself, that is, something already tells us a clue to avoid abuses; that really will make a lot of difference to churches, to families, and to teenagers and to children.
I was only re-thinking what strong enough could mean.
We often need to characterize words better even to help our discerning skills.
That is an exact case of alcoholism numbers and an interesting one, no doubt, because it speaks of things of significant concern to any religious, even unreligious, person; here we come to know an important truth: You really have to be successful while children are younger, very much younger children, and the younger the better, to start molding.
This experiment included fourteen hundred pairs of male and female twins, fraternal and identical, adolescents and early adults.
Concluding: religiosity, or, you might call it, a religious mindset, exerted a "strong enough influence" over the behavior of individuals to the point of helping them overcome the determinism dictated in genetic previous research.
With young adults, because the genetic influence on alcoholism remained, we are led to brainstorm on solutions for the odd fact.
Now, the study said that when they get to young adult life, the copywriter strangely changes the script...
right at this point is where I wonder what is strong influence enough to keep our children safe throughout life.
This is not just a parental concern, I am sure.
What do you think? Alcoholism should not be a lesser minding matter.
Abuse of any kind is never a thing a mother, a father, a church, or any sane person expects or dreams for his/her children, neither for teens nor for kids who got old enough to remember our teachings, but not strong enough to overcome temptations.
Time is short because they grow up so fast.
We want them healthy and fit for the harsh weather at any circumstance.
