5 Signs That You May Have Termites in Your Home

Termite infestation is a fear of almost every homeowner in that they can cause serious, destructive and costly damage.
There aren't too many ways to actually prevent termites from entering your home but there are ways to prevent infestation and to identify early stages of infestation.
Identifying early infestation will prevent serious damage and save you a lot of time and aggravation.
Here are some tips to help you identify some of the most common signs of termites 1.
Wings- If you see wings around the outside of your home or in the inside of your home than it could be that termites have invaded the area in or around your home.
Termites shedding their wings when they are swarming in the area, so if you do find a consistent amount of wings for a few days then you should definitely get an inspection from a professional exterminator.

Sawdust- Small piles of sawdust is another strong indicator of a termite problem.
This could indicate that termites have been chomping away at some wood in your home.

Termite tubes are tube like tunnels that termites build so that they can go from their colonies underground to your home.
These can be identifiable for some but are easiest identified by a trained exterminator.

Mud-looking material-Mud looking material on wooden surfaces is often a sign of termite infestation.
When termites eat away at the wooden interior of your home, they will attempt to cover up or patch up the holes which they have made with dirt.
They use dirt as well as their own feces to create a substance to patch these holes, and it looks like mud.

Observing termites- If you find termites, chances are they will look yellow or white.

, most termites share the basic characteristic of being yellow or white.
Killing off a termite infestation is harder than finding it on your own.
