- The very cheap pressurized balls that come in an unpressurized bag are almost useless. They don't bounce normally, and the worst of them literally fall apart in the first few hours of play.
- The cheaper pressureless balls are often called practice balls. They tend to bounce at the low end of the acceptable range, and their fuzz sometimes wears quickly, but they can be a sensible choice where lots of balls are needed for drills.
- Pressurized practice balls that come in a pressurized container are often every bit as good as tournament balls except for some cosmetic defect.
