" I asked Brant what inspires him to make music.
He explained that his own life experiences lead him to write and produce his album "A New Day.
" Brant continued, "The events we face and emotions we feel each day going through life can present some real challenges.
This music is an answer to those, a way forward to accept and overcome those challenges and emotions.

Brant said that their positive feedback has provided him great confidence to continually push forward and make music.
Brant added, "Lately, my young son and daughter have also provided me with great inspiration!" The song "It's Your Fight" was written for his son as a song of guidance as he learns how to deal with life's up and downs.
Brant's biggest challenge as a musician has been the process of moving from behind a drum kit to center stage as a singer/songwriter.
He started drumming at the early age of sixteen and played / toured with a band called "On The Edge.
" Brant says, "We had a great run, producing a CD, two music videos and gaining some recognition.
I've always wanted to pursue writing and performing in the role of a singer / songwriter, as I have written songs for years.
" Brant decided to put his first album together from the collection of songs that accumulated over the years.
Brant says, "I overcame this challenge by maturing as a musician and songwriter through the process of recording and producing 'A New Day' in my home studio over the course of two years.
" If Brant could change anything in his musical career he says that he would have produced his first album years ago.
He adds, "I am having so much fun doing this that I wish I did it earlier.
" Listeners are responding enthusiastically to Brant Pethick's album "A New Day.
" Listeners are providing lots of positive feedback.
He says, "Many have responded to the energetic and uplifting feel of the music, as well as the strong message of optimism it presents.
" Brant has been able to get his album into the hands of many people worldwide, and is thankful for current technologies that are helping helping him to do so.
I asked Brant what the main themes or topics of most of the songs he writes are and he replied that his album, "A New Day," is a collection of his own life stories and challenges; "Challenges we all face...
life, death, world events, growing up, love and hate.
" Brant's songs provide positive messages overall, although it did not begin that way.
He explains, "I never intended to write lyrics with such a positive message to them, that is what came out.
The songs kind of wrote themselves.
As I wrote in the title track, "Release the Passion from the Pain," the CD has become a statement of optimism and I have gained recognition for my lyrics in each of the eleven tracks.
" Brant claims that the ingredients of a good song are "a strong catchy melody, lyrically or musically, and words that provide inner meaning to the listener.
" I asked Brant what he wanted listeners to get out of his music.
Brant replied, "First of all, I want to thank anyone who has taken the time to listen or purchase my songs.
I want the listener to feel touched by the energy in the music and it's message.
These songs cover a variety of topics and I believe listeners can relate to them and gain a more positive outlook on life.
" Brant is currently planning some performances for later in the year.
He is performing at the opening ceremonies for the first "Hockey Challenge in Ottawa" on February 21st and has the honor of singing the Canadian national anthem, "Oh Canada.
".
He says that this event should be televised and hopefully should get some wonderful press coverage.
