Remember when you had to get a book from the library or a local music store to learn how to play the guitar? Those book lessons provided all the information you needed but I would hardly call them easy guitar lessons.
I probably dated myself by talking about getting a book from the library but this is how we used to learn guitar or we simply would sit around with friends and try to figure it out on our own.
This is what I did to learn what little I did know about playing the guitar.
These days the internet and some awesome technology have made some really easy guitar lessons accessible to anyone that wants to learn how to play the guitar the right way.
This is important because even though I have had years of enjoyment playing the guitar, I certainly wish I had the technology of today back when I got my first Axe.
I would have most definitely been a better musician.
The nice thing is that you certainly can teach an old dog new tricks and the easy guitar lessons available online allow even someone like me that has a ton of bad playing habits a chance to correct those things and become a much better guitar player as a result.
You often hear about the guy who "plays by ear" and it is true that there are many guitarists that can do it.
I have found that playing by ear has much less to do with being some kind of "natural born rock star" and more about having learned to play properly and be able to recognize what chords, notes and style are being used in a certain song.
That guy you know that plays by ear either is guessing how a song is played and often times it is close but not correct or he had some sort of formal training to know where to begin playing a song by listening to the chords and notes being played.
This is the benefit of some of the best easy guitar lessons that are available at a very affordable cost today online.
