If you think that web sites that have pretty looking graphics and an eTrust seal are always safe, well, I have news for you.
These sites are not always safe! Recently, a national study was done, and it found that 97 per cent of people who go on the internet can download spyware, malware, trojans and other types of intruders very easily, without even knowing it.
A quiz was given to to computer users, who were tested to see how much they knew about spyware detection.
Users were shown two sites, and they were asked to choose which one was safe.
Later, sites that feature software sharing were displayed, and users were told to choose the site that was free of spyware.
65 per cent selected a site that was loaded with spyware, even though the site told them that their computer would have spyware loaded on it.
Well, sort of.
See, spyware disclaimers are often buried in the fine print, so those who put these nasty intruders there are not liable legally.
But seriously, who bothers to read all of that fine print? The fact is, 91 percent of people who have a P- C and use the internet have spyware on their computers.
It is virtually impossible to detect these intruders, and getting it off your computer yourself is even more challenging.
That's why you need a spyware scanner that will go in and find all these nasty intruders, get rid of them, and it will also keep spyware off your PC as well.
