The arrival of the new iPhone 4S has been met with a mixed reception from consumers and industry experts worldwide. Some acknowledge the improvements to the technical side of the model but there are others who feel the release has been an anti climax with the phone only differing slightly from its predecessor.
The design of the phone is the area where many potential consumers have been left disappointed with many expecting a brand new glossy design. If we look at the fact though Apple may well have made a wise decision in sticking with the glass casing found on the iPhone 4. A move away from this type of finish would have meant even a metallic or plastic material being used, both of which are used by all of Apples main competitors. By sticking with the glass design the handset stands out and still offers a very modern and eye catching design. There is a school of thought that suggests that this design was also left untouched as the brand plan to launch an iPhone 5 device in the first half of next year. With the technology side of the iPhone 4S being of the highest order it is unlikely a future model can improve much in this area and therefore launching a brand new design may well grab the publics attention.

The 64GB of potential storage space doubles the capacity that the largest iPhone 4 offered whilst a dual core processor offers twice the speed. It is not only the hardware where big changes are present but the iOS5 operating platform should make this iPhone feel unlike any other one you have used before. That does not mean that the platform is more difficult to use because it is easier than ever thanks to the 200 improvements that are on offer.
