Dave Chandler was a founding member of Tyrant in 1979, who soon changed their name to St. Vitus. The influential doom metal band released their self-titled debut in 1984. Scott "Wino" Weinrich joined the group in 1986 and recorded three albums with them. Original vocalist Scott Reagers returned for Die Healing, the last studio CD from St. Vitus. The classic Born Too Late lineup reunited in 2003, and there was another reunion in 2008.
Today's incarnation of St. Vitus includes original members Chandler and bassist Mark Adams along with Weinrich and new drummer Henry Vasquez (Blood Of The Sun).
