- Pilates exercises are some of the best exercises to do on a regular basis, as they combine toning and stretching and yield an incredible amount of concentrated strength over lean muscles. Pilates exercises are also known to help reshape the fascia, which is the connective tissue around the butt and thighs. It does this by burning through and smoothing the excess cellulite that has been stored there. Many gyms have Pilates classes and equipment or private Pilates studios can be found.
- There are a number of exercises and exercise programs you can do to reduce cellulite on your butt without having to join a gym or use fancy equipment. Most of these you can do in the privacy of your own home with just enough space to move, lie down and stretch your body naturally. A kneeling abduction consists of kneeling on the floor and lifting your leg above the ground as high as you can. Then contracts your glutes and brings your leg back down. Do as many reps as you can on each side. Step-ups, lunges and sprinting up stairs 30 to 60 times with each leg will also help your butt without the need for equipment.
- With a few lighter dumbbells and a weight bench, certain exercises easily can be done that concentrate on shaping and toning your butt. By attaching a weight to your ankle, you can do a standing leg curl by lifting your leg back and almost touching your butt and then bringing it back down again slowly (hang on to something steady for support). A standing abduction is similar except you bring your leg as far out to the side as possible before bringing it back across your stationary leg. Three sets of 15 reps with each leg is recommended. Other weight-lifting exercises that concentrate on shaping or toning your butt can be found online or with the help of a trainer at a local gym.
