- 1). Find a bed frame to use for your chaise. One with a sloping headboard will make your task easier. Consider that using an elevated frame and keeping the chaise off the floor will detract from the bedroom look. If your frame is wooden, you can add decorative feet for a touch of decadence.
- 2). Measure a large piece of wood that matches the length of the head of the twin mattress. Make it as high as you want the bolster pillows to be. Attach the wood to the bed with nails. An old headboard will also work, especially one that's already curved.
- 3). Cover the bare mattress with a durable fabric and fold it under the mattress. Use a staple gun or hot glue gun to secure it and keep the fabric taut as you work. You can also cover the mattress with a fitted bed sheet before covering it with your fabric of choice.
- 4). Secure bolster pillows to your new headboard with a staple gun or hot glue gun. If you use staples, you can create a design and hide the staples by gluing on buttons or other decorative flourishes.
- 5). Use additional pillows to create a sloping effect on your chaise. You can also buy a large back pillow or sturdy piece of sloping foam and secure it to the head of the chase with a staple gun or hot glue gun.
- 6). Cover the mattress, frame and sloping pillows or foam with decorative fabric by using a hot glue gun or staple gun. Make sure to keep the fabric taut to give your chaise a polished look. If you don't want to cover the frame in fabric, you can stain or paint it.
