Vios Specs

    • Toyota released its first vehicles in 1937 selling the AA sedan. In the 1950s they established the "Toyota Production System," maximizing the performance of their factories and workers. After more than 70 years, Toyota is now the world's third largest vehicle manufacturer and the largest Japanese automotive company as of 2010. The Vios was introduced on the Asian market in 2003 as a four-door subcompact sedan. The 2010 Toyota Vios is part of its second generation and is only being sold in Asia.

    Trims and Exterior Features

    • The 2010 Toyota Vios is a front wheel drive, four-door sub-compact sedan with only one model which is available in three trims; these are the J, E and G trims. The 2010 Vios has a 15-inch alloy wheel, front grille with chrome, front bumper with fog lamps, rear reflectors, and a sideview mirror with turning lamps.

    Performance and Interior

    • The base powertrain for the 2010 Vios is a 1.3L I4 VVT-i DOHC engine. This engine is available for the J and E trims. The J trim only comes with a five-speed manual transmission, while the E trim is offered in both a five-speed manual transmission and a four-speed automatic transmission. The G variant's powertrain is a 1.5L I4 VVT-i DOHC engine with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic transmission. The base model for the 2010 Toyota Vios comes with manual air conditioning, an AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio system with four speakers, tilt steering wheel, and fabric upholstery. The G variant comes with an upgrade audio system with six speakers, an upgraded instrumental center panel system, and an all-leather interior finish. Power steering, power windows, and power door locks are available on all variants, while the G has an additional power outer mirror.

    Safety and Pricing

    • The J and E trims are equipped a single airbag on the driver side, a seatbelt reminder, and a door-ajar warning. Child lock protection and rear seatbelts are standard on all models. A high mounted stop lamp is also installed. The G trim is the only variant equipped with an Antilock Brake System and two front airbags. On the Asian market, a 2010 Vios ranges from $13,800 to $19,600, depending on the trim and upgrades included.
