Question: My name is Cristina and I'm 23 years old. I have seen spirits, one that looks about five years old and another the appears to be about three. I want to go further with this: trying to talk to them. I want to know who I should converse with and who I shouldn't.
Answer: If I saw such apparitions, would I try to talk to them? Absolutely I would. I see little harm in doing so. The issue then becomes: What should you say?
Assuming these are spirits (intelligent haunting) and not products of a residual haunting (in which case conversing would be pointless because they would be unable to respond in any way), you might see if they respond to questions. Usually spirits are fleeting, however, and don't stick around long enough to be addressed, and even if they do, it's quite possible they will not be able to respond verbally. Such communication with apparitions is extremely rare.
But let's say you can talk to them, then what? Try to get names, specifics about who they are (were). Getting names will go a long way to verifying the reality of your experience. Many respected ghost researchers believe that spirits do not know they are dead, and that they should gently be informed of their situation and advised to move on.
When should you not try to converse with an apparition? If there is any kind of negativity involved with the experience, do not continue with it. Take charge, banish the entity, and assert your rights to your home.
The other strong possibility is that these are not spirits at all. They could be figments of the imagination. Or products of the subconscious in the same way that dreams are manufactured by the subconscious, only, for whatever reason or need, they become apparent to you when you are awake. In this case, you can either dismiss the sightings or -- and this might be more interesting -- try to think of why your subconscious might produce such illusions. That exercise could yield some valuable insight into your current state of mind!
