- 1). Gather all the hula hoops you can find and separate them according to size. Unlike traditional trees, you will suspend your tree from the ceiling so begin by securing a wire from a chandelier or a hook, and leave enough room for the star, which you will place on the tree last.
- 2). Cover the hula hoops with ribbon, winding the ribbon completely around each one and securing the ends with tape. Find your ornaments and separate them according to size; you'll want to put the smallest ones on the top and work your way down with larger ones on the bottom of your tree.
- 3). Start with the smallest hula hoops at the top and use larger ones as you come closer to the ground, holding them in place with wires. First, place four wires about 15 inches long on the smallest hula hoop, securing each by twisting the wires. Then fasten each wire on a larger hula hoop, making sure that the hula hoops are parallel. Do the same with the other hula hoops that will make up your tree. When you finish this, you will have a tree's skeleton that you can decorate.
- 4). Begin decorating your tree. Put strings of lights from the top to the bottom of your tree and keep them in place with tape on the ribbons. When you have finished with the lights, attach an extension cord onto the end of the lights and make sure that it reaches the nearest wall outlet. Then attach your ornaments onto your tree using tape.
- 5). Add a star at the top of your tree, and if you choose, place a garland or tinsel on your tree to make it all the more special.
