Twilight - The Popular American Romantic Vampire Film

The American romantic vampire film Twilight was released on November 21, 2008.
It was so popular that it grossed $392 million worldwide.
It was based on the popular novel with the same title written by Stephenie Meyer.
The film was directed by Catherine Hardwicke.
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart played the male and the female lead roles.
It was the first of a series of three films based on the novels by the same author.
When Isabella Swan was 17 years, he mother leaves her father to marry a minor league baseball player and her father moves to Forks, a small town close to Washington coast with her.
Isabella goes to a new high school and finds many friends there.
On her first day she has sat next to Edward Cullen in her biology class and he looked as if he disliked her.
After a few days when she was in danger of being run over by a van in the parking lot in school, Edward stops the van with one hand preventing the accident.
When she inquired how he did it he was not prepared to explain.
Also, he warned her not to befriend him.
After a lot of effort, Isabella later finds that he is a vampire whose only food is animal blood.
However, they fall in love and Isabella was introduced to the vampire family of Edward.
When a tracking vampire James wants to kill Isabella Edward and his family protects her.
Eventually James finds her in Phoenix and bites her wrist.
Edward comes on the scene and kills James and saves Isabella and sucks the poison out of her wrist to prevent her becoming a vampire.
Though Isabella wants to become a vampire Edward rejects the idea.
The end of the film is when the pair engaged in a dance being watched by Victoria, wife of James plotting to take revenge.
The producer of the film was Greg Mooradian and he wanted to do justice to the novel by representing the exact story with his film.
In order to do that he invited the author Stephenie Meyer to the set several times.
She was even asked to provide notes on the script.
Meyer in turn was very happy the way things went on.
The film was such a success that when its DVD was released on March 21, 2009, it became the best selling DVD of the year.
Even on ticket sales it made many records including achieving the highest gross for the first weekend by a female directed film.
