It will soon be my Grandma's birthday. She's going to be 96 this year! She's
in a nursing home, and when family members visit her, she always tells them that
she is going home, and sometimes forgets who they even are. It is absolutely
heart breaking. She's the sweetest grandma anybody could ever ask for, I have
really been blessed with the perfect grandparents. My grandparents were the type
of people that would have given you the shirt off their backs. I lost my beloved
grandfather when I was only 13 years old. My grandmother has had dementia for
over a decade now.
It really touched me hearing about an older man with dementia that went missing
over night. We had a couple chilly days and nights here lately. Cold for us
Floridians anyhow. No matter which way you turn, if you're cold, you're cold! He
was out in the freezing cold the whole night, and they found him in the morning
with cuts and scrapes on his hands. Luckily he does not recall how they got
there. They had last seen him by an American Legion as their surveillance
cameras showed him wandering around their building so they later found.
My hubby remembers a neighbor from across the street from the house he lived in
growing up wandering off as well. They often had to help him get back home. When
we were insurance agents, an elderly man let us into his home after we told him
who we were. Has us sit on the couch, and went into the back bedroom telling his
wife that a man and woman were there to do the pool! Well, she came out into the
living room absolutely startled! We explained once again who we were, then she
was at ease. As we were talking with her on their dining room table, we later
saw a man go into their back yard to clean their pool! He had beginning stages
of dementia as well.
Now for the caregivers, it's a continuous job trying to keep their eyes on them
at all times. I'd highly suggest to anyone who has to keep their eyes on
somebody to have either hidden cameras, like the fully functional
Built-In DVR Air Purifier Hidden Camera [http://www.spyequipmenthq.com/dvr-air-purifier-hidden-camera.htm], in their house, maybe in
their room, or at least have a camera like the BC-30WC-DN
Color Day/Night Bullet Camera [http://www.spyequipmenthq.com/bc30-bullet-camera.htm], at every door! If you have them
outside of your house, you can see who's going in or out and which direction at
least. Not only are cameras around your home a great help for those with needy
individuals at home, but they're also a really good peace of mind for your home
security.
Check them all out today, you don't want to procrastinate about something so
beneficial.
