Old Model Trains Have Been Powered by Horses!

The train considered as the oldest means of transportation.
The word "train" comes from the Old French word, "Trahiner" or the Latin word, "Trahere" which means to pull or draw.
A train characterized by a series of interconnected vehicles and accessories that move along a railway system that could either be monorail or two rails.
It propelled through locomotive movement.
In ancient times, trains were powered by horses, turbines, ropes/wire and gravity.
The coal being the most famous source of power used from the early 19th century to mid 20th century.
Nowadays, trains could be powered by diesel or electricity as supplied by the overhead wires or additional rails.
Trains are more prevalent in the US, Canada, Europe and Asia.
Certainly, this simple yet innovative technology played an enormous role in history.
The train was the only means of transportation after the Civil War in America.
Others were simply riding a horse and carriage which were extremely uncomfortable.
During that time a man named Joshua Lionel Cowen amazed by how the train worked and its ability to bring people to a different destination across US.
The technology and mechanism of how an old train worked fascinated him together with its locomotive ability.
As a result, Lionel model trains were created.
This passion passed on to his children.
After a century, Lionel's vision of producing toy railway and old railroad train paraphernalia for people to buy like a souvenir or collection is still surviving.
The train became an educational tool and a form of bonding moments with fathers and sons.
Lionel based in New York before he decided to hire gifted workers to create model trains.
It was unexpected that the company would become so popular that both children and adults would be encouraged to buy.
Lionel model trains had become a famous brand and many children around the world had a train.
It is rare that children own a railroad train in the early 1900s since there were only few toys during that time.
Today, railroad trains, are available in antique stores along with old childrens toys in the United States.
These old model trains are worthy because they possess the highest quality despite years.
It is the legacy that old Lionel left around the world.
The trains did not only stand the test of time but depicted the story of an era.
The old model trains come with model railroads in which collectors would be truly delighted to own the most valued Lionel rain.
Aside from Lionel, there are also other models: American Flyer, Marx, American Model Trains or KMT and Colber.
These old trains could run in special kind of railways such as atmospheric railways, high-speed railways, maglev, rubber-tired underground, funicular and cog railways.
A technology that was once a great invention is now passed on to the future generation as toy train models which exhibit innovation.
Model trains come in various scales, which are: G, HO, N, O, On30 and Z.
