Thank-You Cards

• Sometimes, all it takes is words to touch the heart of someone special. An affordable and quick, yet meaningful way, to show your appreciation is to send or personally deliver a "thank-you" card. Cards allow you to freely express your gratitude in exactly the words you wish to use. Because you are sending it to a Sunday school teacher, try to make the card's theme related to Christianity-- perhaps, a kind, religious message that has already been written within the card.
  
  

Scrapbook

• A gift to which you have dedicated hours or days is a gift with meaning. Anybody could walk into a store and buy a premade going-away present, but the fact that you spent hours putting together a project, rather than taking all of five minutes to decide which purchase to make, shows your true appreciation for that person, and the recipient will feel more touched. The perfect example of this gift would be a scrapbook. Use photographs and clippings of in-class Sunday school assignments, while applying captions to describe what you learned from each one. Your teacher will feel proud that she succeeded as a mentor, as well as you as a student.
  
  

Baked Goods

• We all tend to turn to food for comfort. Try baking your Sunday school teacher cupcakes with religious decorations on top, or bake cookies cut in the shapes of doves, angels, or crosses. Your teacher will appreciate the time and effort you put into baking them, and with each bite she will be thinking of you and her Sunday school memories.
  
  

Picture Frame

• We tend to comprehend something better when we are able to look at images. We feel closer to a memory when we can see that moment captured in a photograph. Constructing a picture collage of the meaningful moments is a thoughtful going-away gift for your teacher. She can take the collage wherever she moves to and will be reminded of all of the special times she shared with her Sunday school class. If you cannot collect enough photographs to create a collage, try designing your own picture frame, bordering an image of your teacher and her class.
