- 1). Send money to Bangladesh online, by phone or in person using MoneyGram. MoneyGram charges a fee of $14 to send $100, or $31 to send $500 to Bangladesh. Money will be available within about 10 minutes of sending it. You may also send money using the Economy service which guarantees the money will be available within three days. The fee is $10 to send $100, or $15 to send $500. The sender will have to give the recepient a reference number for the transaction. The transaction number plus identification will be required to pick up the funds.
- 2). Send money to Bangladesh online, by phone or in person using Western Union. Western Union has many pickup locations in Bangladesh, making the service convenient for many recipients. Western Union charges a little less than MoneyGram. To send $100 or $500, Western Union charges the sender a fee of $10 and the money will be available in minutes. Recipients will have to have the money transaction control number (MTCN) and identification to pick up funds.
- 3). Send funds by mail. You can send a certified check or money order to recipient's home in Bangladesh using FedEx. You may also send cash, but this is never recommended. Sending a FedEx envelope, weighing under one pound, by Priority shipment will take about five days to arrive in Bangladesh. The price for such a shipment is just short of $60. The recipient will also have to deposit the check or money order in a local bank. It may take an additional week or two before they can withdraw funds. This is the most inconvenient and expensive way to send funds. But if the recipient is unable to travel to a MoneyGram and Western Union location, this may be the only way.
