- 1). Label the x-axis. This is the horizontal axis. Usually you will see this axis defined as time.
- 2). Label the y-axis. This is the vertical axis. This can be anything that is growing exponentially. For example, if you are describing your bank account's interest, then label the y-axis "money."
- 3). Describe the slope of the curve. Be sure to point out it is not a straight line. You should also mention how the curve starts with a very small slope, but transitions to a much steeper slope as time goes by. This gives it a shape similar to a rounded hull of a boat.
