- 1). Cut a 6 inch piece of medium-gauge craft wire using wire cutters.
- 2). Bend one end of the wire over to touch the middle of the wire using needle-nosed pliers, then twist the bent end onto the middle of the wire. Form the resulting loop into a tear drop shape.
- 3). Cut a piece of craft wire using wire cutters to measure 4 inches long. Position the wire perpendicularly against the first wire, directly underneath the loop.
- 4). Fold the two ends of the 4 inch wire into opposite directions to effectively wrap it around the center of the form. These will be the arms of the ankh.
- 5). Cover the entire wire form with 8 ounces of polymer clay. Shape the polymer clay so it is evenly distributed around the wires. Select any color of polymer clay that you prefer.
- 6). Place the clay ankh onto a cookie tray, then bake it in a 200 degree Fahrenheit oven for 10 minutes. Allow the ankh to cool for 30 minutes.
- 7). Decorate the 3D ankh using colorful acrylic paint, then allow the paint to dry for 30 minutes.
- 8). Paint a layer of clear acrylic glaze over the painted ankh, which will protect the paint and will make the ankh appear glossy. Allow the Egyptian 3D ankh to dry for 30 minutes before displaying it.
