The Best Foods That Help Prevent Wrinkles

Believe it or not, eating the right foods can help your body combat the natural effects of aging, including wrinkles, sagging skin, and blemishes.
Foods that prevent wrinkles are also good for you in other ways, so your really doing more than just preventing aging effects.
The key to determine which foods help prevent wrinkles is finding the ones that contain the right vitamins and minerals.
Foods that contain high amounts of antioxidants are considered the best foods to ingest.
Antioxidants help prevent the loss of collagen, firmness, and elasticity of your skin.
Here are some of the foods you should consider adding to your diet: FRUIT and VEGETABLES - DARK, LEAFY GREEN VEGETABLES are loaded up with antioxidants and chlorophyll and are natural cleansers of the body.
They also contain zinc which allows for new collagen to replace damaged molecules.
- TOMATOES contain lycopene which is good for wrinkle prevention.
- KALE and BEETS contain lots of iron, which increases oxygen flow to your skin.
When lacking iron, you are also more prone to dark circles under your eyes.
- RED and DARK ORANGE PEPPERS are loaded with Vitamin A and Vitamin E.
These vegetables help moisturize and heal the skin.
- WINTER SQUASH contains lots of Vitamin A and Vitamin C.
These vitamins will help prevent infection and increase the elasticity of your skin.
And by elasticity, I mean the ability to stretch and move skin around, while returning to it's original shape.
- BLUEBERRIES and BLACKBERRIES have lots of antioxidants in them called polyphenols.
Organic berries are better for you because you can be assured there are no toxins used in their production.
SEAFOOD - SALMON, MACQUEREL, and SARDINES contain omega 3, 6, and 9 fatty acids which help prevent inflammation, as well as lubricate your skin.
These are good types of fat (they are unsaturated as oppose to saturated) and are needed by your body.
- Seafood also contains copper which boost the growth of elastin, a skin protein.
As you grow older, your elastin count begins to drop more and more, which explains sagging skin (like under the chin, arms, etc.
) MISCELLANEOUS - EGGS and NUTS also contain fatty acids that are essential to skin cell health.
- EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL should be used at the dinner table instead of butter or margarine.
Olive oil contains unsaturated fats, which are needed by your body.
Again, stay away from too much saturated fats.
- Making yourself SMOOTHIES and VEGI SHAKES are also good for your body and skin, and are usually more tasty than eating straight vegetables for some odd reason...
So the key to choosing healthy foods to eat is the ingredients in the food.
Get as many antioxidants in your body as possible.
And foods with vitamins A, B, C, and E are great for keeping smooth and youthful skin.
Copper, zinc, lycopene, iron, and unsaturated fats should also be worked into your daily diet.
So what else can you do to assure you keep your skin smooth and silky?Besides ingesting vitamins and nutrients through just food, you can also ingest effective ingredients topically (applied to the skin).
Using a wrinkle care cream or other topical substance is a great way to improve your skin's condition.
The pores in our skin are another way to absorb needed nutrients and vitamins, and seeing that our skin is the largest organ of our body, we should make use of all the pores we have! When looking for the best wrinkle care product, avoid purchasing from huge, well-known companies.
These companies tend to spend a lot more money on the marketing and advertising of their product as oppose to the development of their product.
Therefore, less effort is placed in the production of their products.
