- 1). Park the tractor on level ground and set the parking brake.
- 2). Crawl under the tractor and locate the bottom of the oil pan, which is a rectangular portion located towards the front of the tractor's engine.
- 3). Find the drain plug on the oil pan and use an appropriately-sized crescent wrench to partially unscrew the drain plug.
- 4). Slide an oil catch pan under the oil drain plug and carefully unscrew the plug the rest of the way.
- 5). Allow all of the oil to drain out of the oil pan into the catch pan. When you are sure all of the oil has drained out, screw the oil drain plug back in with the crescent wrench.
- 6). Locate the oil filter on the upper portion of the engine block and use an oil filter wrench to unscrew it from the engine.
- 7). Screw the new oil filter into place, tightening by hand as a wrench can overtighten the filter and damage the seal.
- 8). Locate the tractor's oil fill plug on the left side of the engine.
- 9). Pour the manufacturer's recommended amount of oil into the engine and then screw the cap back on tightly.

Start the tractor, allow it to warm up for a few minutes, then check the oil dipstick to make sure it is in the normal range.
