In The Sims 2 Apartment Pets for the Nintendo DS, you play as the operator of an apartment complex's pet spa, meaning that you take care of the pets of the complex's tenants by giving them toys to play with, feeding them and giving them medicine when they're ill. Additionally, you can upgrade your apartment and spa with better items. If you're having a difficult time keeping up with all this, there are a number of cheats you can use.

Cash Cheat

If you find yourself in need of more money, whether you'll looking to purchase more furniture or pet food, go to the "Options" menu and select "Unlockables." From here, you can enter the cheat code "Cash"to give yourself $10,000 to spend on whatever you need. You should hear a noise confirming the cheat code's entry.

You can use another cheat code, "Stash," to immediately give yourself all of the furniture and clothing items in the game, and thus bypass the game's store altogether. This will allow you to immediately upgrade all of your furniture items to those of the highest quality.

The final cheat code, "Motive," maximizes all of your character's motive attributes, including hunger, social, bladder and energy. Essentially, this cheat instantly fulfills all of your character's needs, allowing you to focus on your pets.

Having higher-quality furniture in your pet spa increases your "Appearance Bar." The higher the value of this bar, the more you will be paid for every pet you cure. While you initially receive $300 per ailment, provided that you cured every ailment suffered by the pet you were treating, this amount increases by $300 every time you gain an additional 25 percent on the appearance bar.

There are two ways you can treat pets: You can either treat them yourself, through one of three mini-games, or you can have your assistant treat the pets. However, because your assistant only makes $100 per pet treated, you should always opt to treat pets yourself, which will almost always earn you far more money.

Keep an eye on your motivations, which include hunger, social, bladder and energy. If any of these bars drops too low, your character will have an increasingly difficult time completing tasks. While the hunger and bladder bars can be resolved by eating or using the restroom, respectively, the social bar can be resolved by speaking with other resident of the apartment complex, and the energy bar can be restored by resting.
