- According to Dr. William Beoricke, author of "Homeopathic Materia Medica", individuals requiring sulphur often are forgetful and very selfish. They may also have difficulty thinking.
- Beoricke indicates that knee pain may be made worse when standing or lying in bed. It will be better in dry and warm weather, or when the individual is not lying on the side with the knee that hurts.
- An individual who needs sulphur may find himself unable to stand upright, and experience stiffness and pressure in the knee. The pain may be sharp, tearing or stitching.
- A person needing sulphur for knee pain may also experience dryness and itching on the scalp, arms or face. This person may not often have a large appetite, and might experience diarrhea in the morning upon waking.
- Beoricke and Dr. Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy, both recommend beginning at the 12th potency, especially for acute conditions. Chronic pain should be treated with the 200th potency or higher.
