Have you ever really thought about the fact that society as a whole spends more money in the month of December than any other month of the year? That people so freely give generously and are prepared to spend money to do so, yet so many personal trainers find themselves earning less over Xmas.
Why is it that some trainers flourish yet others lose countless clients and sessions over Xmas? Is it limiting beliefs? Paradigms and our own perception of Xmas? Why aren't personal trainers receiving more of the money society is spending?
It is simply a matter of educating people on the opportunities to purchase PT and group training packages as Xmas gifts for friends, family or even themselves.
The key is to look after your clients and give them gifts and offer promotions and incentives.
Gift voucher, idea number 1:
Create 2 vouchers to give to each of your clients with 3 free PT sessions for the holder and a friend and the value, eg if you charge $50 per session then the voucher value will be $300. Imagine that giving each client a total of $600 do you think they will be appreciative? Be sure to have an expiry date preferably in mid January and your contact details.
To add the icing on the cake you can place them either in a Christmas card or a coloured envelope with a ribbon tied around it. Watch your clients eyes light up. Remember the key is to use the first session as 1 hour as the induction to build rapport do goal setting a quick workout then up-sell your PT package. The second is a 30minute follow up.
If you have 15 clients and you give them each 2 vouchers for 2 people that gives you 60 potential prospects for December and January. You can even send them to your past clients from the beginning of the year. Then What?
Promotion, idea number 2:
Once you have put your feelers out to generate the leads the next step is to have a promotion ready to appeal to the potential client conducive to the festive season.
The most powerful promotion seems to be a 50% off promo which can be delivered 2 ways. Either sell a package at half prize for December only or for every session they buy they receive one free. I personally normally sell 10 x 30 minute PT sessions for $599 but for December only as a Xmas special it is only $299 what a bargain.
Now some people may say doesn't it devalue PT? Well no because it is a once a year only offer that will give you a boost over Xmas. Eg I started this promo last week and sold 4 x 10 packs taking $1200, each client must do 2 sessions each week. In the new year 2 of the 4 clients will probably stop and 2 will continue, but here is the beauty of this promo in January I will still earn the same amount of money but be working less because the clients that continue will be paying full price, plus I will take an extra few thousand dollars as a Xmas bonus.
I have dozens of PTs Australia wide using this great idea with amazing results, it's up to you give it a go and reap the rewards.
I personally am giving my clients something each week:
Week 1: vouchers
Week 2: Xmas Card
Week 3: Bottle of Yellow Champagne wrapped in cellophane
Week 4: everyone who is training receives a free session that week.
Thanks again for taking the time to read this publication I hope it brings you as much success as it has me.
Yours in Personal Training
