- 1). Start the engine of your lawn edger.
- 2). Place the blade between the sidewalk and where the soil meets the sidewalk.
- 3). Press the trigger on the edger to start the blade.
- 4). Walk the blade along the edge of the sidewalk, using the sidewalk as a guide.
- 5). Sweep up the debris from the sidewalk.
