Top 5 Opponents For Hopkins to Take on Next

Last weekend, October 18, Bernard Hopkins (49-5-1 32 Ko's) got an outstanding unanimous victory over the former undefeated middleweight champion Kelly, The Ghost, Pavlik (34-1-0 30 Ko's), many who assumed that Pavlik was going to knock Bernard Hopkins out for the first time in his career.
But Hopkins once again silenced his critics, as he did with Trinidad, and Tarver.
So what is next for Bernard Hopkins? We really do not know what he is going to do yet, but He has promised us that the next fight, he was going to press a little more and try to knock out any opponent he has in front of him.
I particularly have not seen Bernard so confident before.
This is what happens to a warrior after a loss.
They go back to the drawing board and go harder.
1) So what opponent will he be able to take on next? Well, since he has already defeated and undefeated guy already, why not continue his roll by taking on another undefeated Light Heavyweight king, Chad Dawson (27-0-0 17ko's).
Dawson has just gotten a victory over the former light Heavyweight Champion Antonio, the Magic Man, Tarver (27-5-0 16ko's).
Dawson's hand speed has made such the difference in that fight, resulting a unanimous decision for Dawson.
The same goes for the Executioner Hopkins.
His hand speed was what resulted in the decision that he had.
i really would like to see another youth versus experience fight between Dawson and Hopkins.
If Hopkins would be able to come out with a victory in that fight he would be established as the undisputed Light Heavyweight Champion of the world.
2) Who could be another opponent for Hopkins? What about a rematch with Roy Jones Jr? Bernard was talking about a huge match after the victory over Pavlik.
"I would go to England to fight the Welshman, but a fight with Roy Jones would be HUGE.
" I would like to see Jones take on a match regardless if he loses or wins against Calzaghe.
Jones has given Hopkins a tactical defeat back in 1993, but fifteen years later can still make a difference for anyone.
Other than Hopkins winning an easy fight over Pavlik, I still think that Jones will still give Bernard trouble.
3) Now why not get a rematch with the Welshman again? If this fight were to happen again, then I believe that Hopkins will come out with a victory.
Bernard had a chance of a lifetime to knock out Calzaghe, but he did not follow up.
He hurt Calzaghe in the first round, regardless of him saying that it was just a little flash knockdown.
And in the middle round, I've seen Bernard Land a perfect right hand at the end of the round that also hurt Calzaghe, and Calzaghe was kucking his head as if he was never never hurt there.
So, if Hopkins in true to his word by saying he was going to press harder and try to go for the knockout, then I think that he should have a rematch with Joe Calzaghe.
4) Another match that I had in mind was a third match between Taylor and Hopkins again.
I believe that Hopkins won the first fight by a close call, even though Taylor won by decision.
And that first fight can be debatable.
The second fight, I believe that Taylor won the fight by a close call as well.
So why can't Hopkins try to settle the score with the person that took his middle weight reign.
5) The last fight that I really think that Hopkins should take is a rematch with Tito Trinidad.
Trinidad has wanted a rematch for so long, and recent reports say that he will not fight another match unless he is fighting Hopkins or De la Hoya.
This will be a chance for Tito to get revenge for his first professional loss, but I do not think that is going to happen.
The only way that I think that Tito would win is if he knocks out Hopkins.
He tried that in the first fight and look what happened; He got laid on his ass in the twelfth round, and his corner through in the towel.
Pavlik tried to do the same thing, and he was on the verge of being knocked out.
So, if this match were to happen, then I would expect a repeat of the first fight.
I had so much faith in Tito in the first fight.
I am Puerto Rican too, but with that garbage performance in the first fight, and his last fight with Jones Jr.
, then you can expect a repeat.
