Start early. Waking up well before your children do offers you two or three hours of peace and quiet to collect your thoughts, research information and write a knockout article. When the alarm goes off at 5 o'clock in the morning., you may need to drag yourself to the coffee pot before getting started, but it is worth it to write at least two articles before "kid chaos" breaks out. - 2). Plan ahead. If you take one day during the week to plan out a week's worth of homeschooling lessons, you will allow yourself some much needed writing time throughout the week. Sunday is always a great day to get this done, as many freelancers (especially those with children), will take a day off to spend time with their family anyway. This also encourages your kids to work more independently, which is the essence of homeschooling to begin with.
- 3). Outline while you teach. A good freelancer will always know what her aim is with any article she writes. This being said, outlining an article before writing it is essential. This can be done at the kitchen table with your children sitting next to you, completing their lessons. You are accomplishing half of the task needed to submit good articles, while making yourself available to your children if they need assistance with their lessons.
- 4). Plan your day. This can only be done one way, and that is by organizing your time. Many who home school teach between 2 to 3 hours per day. However, it doesn't need to be a consecutive two to three hours. Spend an hour teaching, and then give the kids a break for two hours while you hit the computer and write what you have outlined. Once you have one or two articles written, teach for another hour and repeat the process until both you and your children have met the goals set for the day.

Incorporate your work into their lessons. It is essential for home schooled children to learn self reliance, and a great way to do this is by teaching them how to research. While you are researching your topic, allow them to sit with you and watch how you accumulate your information and organize it. It may take you a little longer to accomplish your work, but you'll still be accomplishing something and teaching your kids simultaneously.
