- 1). Soak up the urine with a dry rag. If your dog peed directly onto the leather, and you catch it in time, you will notice a small puddle of the pee on the surface of the leather.
- 2). Mix a mild soap solution with water in a plastic bucket. Use 2 cups water and 1 cup mild liquid soap or mild detergent. Dip your sponge into the solution and wring it out to remove excess liquid.
- 3). Apply the sponge to the leather jacket. Wash the area where the urine was in a circular motion. Allow the sponge to get sudsy on the leather.
- 4). Wash the entire leather jacket this way. Keep in mind that the spot where you are washing the leather will likely dry in a lighter or darker color than the rest of the jacket. To keep your jacket all the same color, wash the entire jacket instead of just one spot.
- 5). Rinse the jacket off with a clean rag wet with fresh water. Do not put your leather jacket underneath the faucet of your sink or bathtub or let the leather jacket soak in a soapy or clean-water bath.
- 6). Hang the jacket up in your shower on a hanger to dry. Inspect the spot the next day to see if the spot is noticeable and if it smells.
