- 1). Inspect and clean all filters on your furnace.
- 2). Shut off the power to the furnace from your home's circuit breaker.
- 3). Unlatch and take off the main furnace door, then unscrew and remove the cap on the inducer drain housing. Set the cap aside.
- 4). Insert the 1/2-inch drain tube that came with the furnace into the inducer drain. Insert the funnel that came with the furnace into the end of the 1/2-inch drain tube.
- 5). Pour one quart of propylene glycol antifreeze, which is designed for swimming pools, spas and RVs, into the funnel. Do not use ethylene glycol or Prestone II-style antifreeze coolants because they can destroy plastic components inside the furnace.
- 6). Remove the drain tube and funnel, replace the cap and replace the furnace door.
